Officially launched on the 19th August 2005, the Property Enquiry System enables easy access to council map based information. In the following months more functionality such as printing of property specific maps and additional data will be added. As part of this process we encourage your feedback. Presently, the Taupo District Council Property Enquiry System works with a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher, with Internet Explorer versions 5.5 and higher, and Netscape versions 7.0 and higher.
Taupo District Council has been using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology since 1997 and now holds a large resource of Geographic information, some of which is now available to you via this site. GIS mapping system provides tools to display, manipulate and analyse geographic information by combining lots of different ‘layers’ of information together based on their geographic location. For example these layers of information consist of aerial photos, property information (e.g. boundaries, rates, legal descriptions, land size etc.), utility services, contours, census statistics, council consent information, etc.). These tools enable Council to better manage their location based information, whilst assisting with planning processes and business decisions. Printed Map Request Charges:
Printed Street Map Charges Street maps are available for all of the urban areas throughout the Taupo District. They are colour maps (A3 size), and include Property Boundaries, Addresses and Reserves.
